The National Thalassaemia Center of Teaching Hospital Kurunegala is the largest Thalassaemia Ward in Sri Lanka, catering to thousands of registered patients mainly from Kurunegala district while others are from Puttlam district. For their 17th anniversary, Vision Care Kurunegala Branch provided lunch to the in-house patients of Thalassaemia Ward and donated basic medical equipment & a water filter for their day-today use.
In November 2013, Vision Care Kurunegala Branch donated some medical equipment to the unit as a part of their CSR initiatives.
