CSR intervention in sanitation

For patients seeking medical treatment, a hospital with good sanitary facilities should be the norm. However, for some medical institutions, modernizing or renovating poor infrastructure is a tremendous challenge.

Nethralokana Sathkara spent over LKR 650,000 from their corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds allocated for “Humanity” projects to upgrade and build sanitation facilities at female ward of Ward 59 at National Hospital, Sri Lanka.

Responding to a request made by Dr. Ms. Madhubhashinee Dayabandara Consultant Psychiatrist, the existing rest room facility at the female ward was upgraded to a modern sanitation facility and a new unit for disable patients was constructed.  The project was completed by July 21st, 2019.
