To celebrate the International Elders’ Day 2019, Savi Sarana Trust organized a singing & dancing program for elderly people on Sunday 29th September at Ti Sarana Community Center, Pannipitiya. Further, they distributed a bag of dry rations to 65 deserving to the value of about LKR 5000/-, LKR 1000/- in cash and an umbrella to each and also the lunch and a dessert.
Nethralokana Sathkara supported this worthy cause by sponsoring for their expense for the hall charge. Previously, Vision Care gifted 25 pairs of spectacles and a pair of sun glasses given to these same needy elders. Mrs. Savithri Panabokke is the founder of the Savisarana Foundation, an organisation involved in distributing relief items to those depending on the ‘Government Charity Allowance’.
