Celebrating 20th Anniversary with Sandagala Special School

As a part of its annual social projects, Kurunegala Branch with Nethralokana Sathkara renovated an existing school building of Sandagala Special School (for Deaf & Blind Children) –Uhumeeya – Kurunegala.

130+ students in school are either visually impaired, hearing impaired and others differently abled. There are a few children with down syndrome as well.  The existing classroom assigned for braille practicing was very old and in damaged condition.  So, the unit was completely renovated and newly arrange unit was handed over to the School on the 1st November, 2019 by the higher officials of Vision Care Optical Services, who also gifted mugs, casual bags and bath towels to all students.

This event was colored by a concert organized by the school, showcasing their skills in dance, voice and instruments.    Thanks go out to the Principal, teachers and students who tirelessly volunteered to put on the show.

Vision Care had arranged birthday cakes and soft drinks for all participants.  The officials of the Nethralokana Sathkara promised to build an open concept art room for the school within the 1st quarter of the year 2020.
