Why open spaces matter !

Leisure parks and open space improve our physical and psychological health, increase peacefulness of the mind, and make our surrounding more attractive to live. Numerous studies have shown the social, environmental, economic, and health benefits parks bring to people.

Nethralokana Sathkara took the responsibility of rearranging and maintaining the garden area of Ward 09 at Peradeniya Teaching Hospital. The project was completed by November 8^th, 2019 and handed over to the officials of the Ward.

Mr. U B Palipana from National Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya assisted in providing ideas & assistance on landscaping. Dr. Ms. Dewasmika Ariyasinghe Senior Lecturer, Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya and Consultant Psychiatrist, Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya provided this golden opportunity for Nethralokan Sathkara to get involved with this worthy project.
