Nethrawalokana Sathkara is financially helping educators and students to overcome disturbing descriptions of dilapidated classrooms, inadequate supplies and out-of-pocket expenses for necessities. Early Childhood Development is an investment for life.
Therefore, while the unit takes special attention to help the students who need extraordinary care at the Center for Education Hearing Impaired Children (CEHIC) at Kelaniya, it helps Singhe Sigithi Pera Pasala (Pre-school) at Mount Lavinia. As a good quality education helps children reach their full potential, through these projects, Nethralokana Sathkara ensures they get sufficient numbers of teachers with specific qualifications.
Even though the main focus is to improve teaching section, Nethrawalokana Sathkara supports special projects, depending on its impact on children’s well-being. Likewise, identifying how music can impact child development, improve social skills, and benefit kids of all ages, Nethrawalokana Sathkara partnered with The Music Project in 2018, to conduct music lessons and train children of Roman Catholic Girls School, Kotahena Colombo 13, to play orchestral instruments.
In addition, identified groups of children, like students at The Ceylon School for the Deaf & Blind Ratmalana, orphans at Vajira Sri Children’s Development Center Pitakotte and kids at Apeksha Hospital Maharagama are offered customized donations on annually.
