As a part of its annual social projects, Kurunegala Branch with Nethralokana Sathkara renovated an existing school building of Sandagala Special School (for Deaf & Blind Children) \u2013Uhumeeya \u2013 Kurunegala.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

130+ students in school are either visually impaired, hearing impaired and others differently abled. There are a few children with down syndrome as well.\u00a0 The existing classroom assigned for braille practicing was very old and in damaged condition.\u00a0 So, the unit was completely renovated and newly arrange unit was handed over to the School on the 1st<\/sup> November, 2019 by the higher officials of Vision Care Optical Services, who also gifted mugs, casual bags and bath towels to all students.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This event was colored by a concert organized by the school, showcasing their skills in dance, voice and instruments.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Thanks go out to the Principal, teachers and students who tirelessly volunteered to put on the show.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

All victims of the 172 households impacted by the Easter Sunday Terrorists\u2019 attack received eye & hearing screening assistance at Katuwapitiya Community Centre in Negombo on Saturday, May 17, 2019. This medical camp was organized by Dialog Axiata PLC with NETHRALOKANA SATHKARA by Vision Care. After completing a successful screening program, about 55 spectacles were delivered to the needy. Further, being there and acting in a kind, caring way towards them was an important psychological support to them after a traumatic event.
