The initiative, led by the premier personality for 2025\/2026, <strong>Mrs. Kumari Fonseka<\/strong>, aims to uplift over <strong>2,500 villagers<\/strong> through improvements in purified drinking water via a Reverse Osmosis plant, upgraded sanitary facilities, and enhanced educational support for Danakiriya Primary School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recognizing the urgent healthcare needs of the community, CLC partnered with&nbsp;Vision Care, Sri Lanka\u2019s leading eye and hearing care provider, to address gaps in accessible vision and hearing services. In response, Vision Care initiated the&nbsp;Nethralokana Sathkara CSR Project, providing comprehensive eye screening, free spectacles and follow-up care free of charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eye Camp Impact \u2013 Phase 01<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The first phase was conducted on <strong>8th August<\/strong>, where Vision Care organized a large-scale <strong>free eye camp<\/strong> for villagers.<br>\nKey highlights include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\n<strong>800+ participants<\/strong> attending the screening\n<\/li><li>\n<strong>289 individuals<\/strong> identified with vision problems\n<\/li><li>\n<strong>7 cataract patients<\/strong> requiring urgent surgery\n<\/li><li>\n<strong>5 children<\/strong> diagnosed with squint\n<\/li><li>\nSupport from <strong>20+ Vision Care professionals<\/strong>, ensuring high-quality diagnostics and patient care\n<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This phase also included a <strong>paediatric education program<\/strong> to promote early detection, visual hygiene, and long-term eye health among children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Community Benefit Through Fully Sponsored CSR Care<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Every service provided\u2014eye testing, consultations, and education\u2014was&nbsp;fully funded by the Nethralokana Sathkara CSR initiative, ensuring all villagers received care&nbsp;completely free of charge. This reinforced Vision Care\u2019s long-standing commitment to improving public eye health and reducing preventable vision loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Spectacle Voucher Distribution \u2013 Phase 02<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The second phase, during which Vision Care distributed <strong>free Spectacle<\/strong> to all individuals identified as needing corrective lenses during the first phase. These vouchers enabled the community to access <strong>high-quality spectacles and hearing aids at no cost<\/strong>. Clinical reports and prescription data collected during the program highlighted recurring vision challenges within the population, especially uncorrected refractive error and age-related visual conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Transforming Rural Healthcare Access<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For many villagers, this was their first opportunity to undergo an eye examination, and the positive impact was immediate. The overwhelming response and gratitude demonstrated the critical need for accessible healthcare services in rural Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Nethralokana Sathkara project marks a significant continuation of Vision Care\u2019s long-term initiative: the&nbsp;Vision Chart Distribution &amp; Free Primary Eye Screening Program. Vision Care remains dedicated to supporting underserved communities, raising awareness, and ensuring that quality eye and hearing care is within reach for every Sri Lankan.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><img
