Providing funds for Counselling

Nethralokana Sathkara initiated a program of psychosocial rehabilitation for patients with chronic psychiatric illness at ward 59, National Hospital Sri Lanka (NHSL), from May, 2015 onwards. 

Responding to the request made by Dr. Ms. Madhri Senanayake, Nethralokana Sathkara agreed to fund University Psychiatry Unit (Ward 59 @ NHSL) to get the continuous support from outside counsellors to conduct sessions for patients and their family members / care givers.  At this Unit, inpatient care is provided for around 750 persons annually and monthly clinic attendance is around 1000. 

Further, this monthly contribution will support University Child Psychiatric Unit (Ward 19 @ LRH) to support their child clients on different ways to improve their skills.  In this unit, around 15 children are treated per day.
